By completing the questionnaire, you’ve taken a first important step toward better oral health for your child!

This personalised Junior Oral Care Ritual marks another milestone in your child’s development. From the age of about six onwards, your child’s milk teeth start to come out and are gradually replaced with “grown-up” teeth.

Thanks to the healthy oral hygiene rituals that you’ve already established, your junior brusher is well equipped to start looking after their permanent teeth. It’s time to stand on the sideline and supervise!

The following ritual includes the steps to follow and products to use to ensure complete daily oral care that meets your child’s unique needs:

GUM JUNIOR Tandenborstel 6-9

Step 1

At least twice a day, gently brush teeth with a soft toothbrush for two minutes.

Kids have growing bodies. That’s why we offer GUM® JUNIOR 6-9 Manual Toothbrush , a right-sized toothbrush with a soft rubber head for maximum gripping comfort and soft dome-shaped bristles for gentle and effective cleaning.

The fun strawberry-flavoured gel of GUM JUNIOR Toothpaste 6+ features a gentle formula with 98% natural ingredients, plus fluoride and isomalt to help prevent cavities. It's less abrasive than adult toothpaste, to protect their still-developing enamel.

After brushing, finish the ritual with rinsing.

A tasty, fluoride-containing, alcohol-free option for children, GUM JUNIOR Mouthwash 6+ protects enamel while preventing a build-up of plaque.

Everything you need to know

Around age six, children usually have developed enough manual dexterity to begin brushing their teeth independently.

However, supervision and help completing the brushing exercise are still essential to ensure thorough cleaning until they are around 10-11 years old.

Encourage consistency by making oral care routines enjoyable.

Incorporate fun elements like colourful toothbrushes, flavoured toothpaste, or brushing together as a family. Positive reinforcement, such as praise or rewards, can also motivate children to stick to their oral hygiene routines.

Yes, several dental issues can arise during this period, including cavities, orthodontic problems, and gum disease.

Regular dental check-ups are crucial for early detection and treatment of these issues. Additionally, monitor your child's diet to moderate their intake of sugary snacks and beverages, which contribute to cavities.

It's recommended for children to visit the dentist every six months for routine check-ups and cleanings.

These visits help monitor oral health, detect any issues early, and provide oral hygiene instructions and preventive care such as fluoride treatments or dental sealants.
