Benefit from complete SELF-CARE

Gently and effectively clean where your toothbrush alone can’t

Even the best toothbrush cannot clean the tiny spaces that hide between your teeth.  We know, we make great brushes, with long tapered bristles that clean hard-to-reach areas in your mouth. To clean deep between your teeth, where plaque and food hide, you need an interdental brush. This is what we at GUM® call complete self-care. A daily ritual of interdental cleaning and toothbrushing that will not only give you a sensation of lasting freshness and cleanliness but will also help keep your teeth and gums healthy and strong, for a lifetime. Gum inflammation is harmful for your oral health and can also affect your body health - indeed, chronic inflammation is a risk factor for many systemic diseases. Day after day, create a wealth of wellbeing

GUM® New Me Interdental

If you start thinking of your toothbrush and your interdental brush as one inseparable team, you’ve got it made!  You're in for a great feeling of freshness and cleanliness throughout the day. But also a great feeling of satisfaction – the one you get when you know you’ve done something good for yourself. Like taking the stairs instead of the lift, buying local or making your own skin mask. They might seem tiny and insignificant at first but, in the long run, these small actions help you build your “wellbeing capital”. It’s the same with complete self-care – by making your toothbrush and interdental brush an inseparable pair you’re creating a wealth of wellbeing for your mouth and body.

Which interdental for me?

There are as many interdental brushes as there are toothbrushes, meaning you’re bound to find one that’s right for you.  If you’re a novice, start with a micro-brush, like our GUM SOFT-PICKS® COMFORT FLEX MINT or GUM SOFT-PICKS ADVANCED. They come in multiple shapes and sizes and are designed for ultimate gum comfort. Not only do they remove plaque and food from between teeth, they also massage your gums – great for stimulating circulation.

If you’re already facing some gum discomfort – tenderness, swelling or recession – you may quickly want to move on to our classic brushes, like our GUM TRAV-LER® or GUM BI-DIRECTION range. These brushes tend to better fill larger interdental spaces and are great at removing food debris and plaque.

Wow, it’s actually easy

As with any new habit, adopting interdental cleaning may not be obvious at first, you may forget, you may even find it awkward.  But over time it will become an integral part of your oral care ritual. Here are a few simple tips to get started:

Make it straightforward – take your interdental brushes or micro-brushes out of their pack and place them next to your toothbrush so they’re ready for use. When you buy a pack, buy at least two – you don’t want to run out and break your momentum.

Brush between teeth at the same time and in the same place every day – ideally, before brushing with a toothbrush. Regularity helps establish good habits – you don’t want to have to think about it.  Find out how to make the most of your oral health ritual here.

Reward yourself every time you brush between your teeth – move your tongue across your teeth and savour the sensation, test your breath, look at your smile in the mirror… You may even want to buy a pretty container to make it extra special each time you reach for your interdental brush.

Give yourself at least 3 weeks to establish your habit. Celebrate every time you do it but don’t punish yourself if you miss a day or two. For some, it will be important to record progress, day after day. For you, it might be enough to know that you are one of those people who invest in their future, that you are PROUD TO CARE.
